Richard "Rick' Lewis Seens unexpectedly passed away at home, Thursday, April 27, 2023, in his 67th year.

Rick was predeceased by his father, Thomas; and brother, Jamie. He is survived by his mother, Elaine; son, Nick (Catherine); grandson, Logan; and three brothers, Larry (Lynda), Chris (Ann), and Dan (Carole).

Rick was also a (great) uncle to many. While never getting married himself, Rick lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by friends and family. Rick worked for Bell Canada from 1987 until 2021 as a Detail Engineer Associate.

After Rick retired, he devoted most of his time to taking care of his mother, Elaine, tending to his lawn, and spending time with his grandson, Logan, whom he loved more than anything else in this world.

Rick's witty sense of humor, kind heart, and memorable debates will be greatly missed.

He may no longer be with us, but his memory will live on in his family's hearts.

Loving husband of Betty for 56 years.

Devoted Grumpa to Abigail, Ty, Cooper and Ryan. Dear brother of Nancy (Rich) Rollins.

Rick will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rick is a retired Sargent from the RCMP after 25 years of service then became an investigator with the Ministry of Environment for 15 years.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Tuesday May 23rd from 4 – 8 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday July 9th from 12 – 4 p.m. at Scott Lee’s residence.

Ruth Isobel Williams (nee Reynolds) passed away peacefully, at Scarborough Centenary Hospital, on May 11, 2023.

Born on October 4, 1927, she was in her 96th year and was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert (Bob), with whom she shared 65 years of marriage; her brother, Art; and sister, Jeanne; and is survived by her sister, Fae.

Ruth is lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Cheryl (Reg), Lynn (Clint), Patti (Greg) and Evangeline (John); 9 grandchildren: Matthew (Amanda), Jonathan (Kim), Nathaniel (Meaghan), Jeremy (Brittany), Andrew (Melissa), Ginny (Brad), Andrew (Rachel), James, and Jack; and 13 great-grandchildren: William, Claire, Luke, Keira, James, Abigail, Madelyn, Berkley, Dani, Ellie, Jameson, Isla, and Wilson. Ruth was born in Bowmanville, Ontario and raised in Solina, Ontario.

After high school she worked at the Goodyear plant in Bowmanville before marrying Bob in 1951, at which time she devoted her life to her husband and four daughters.

She was an active member of the Trinity United Church (UCW) in Bowmanville and the Bowmanville Lions Club Lionettes.

Services are to be held Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. with Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Morris Funeral Chapel in Bowmanville. Interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society are appreciated. Mom will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her many offers of a helping hand, her kindness, and cheerful smiles. Her loving looks always warmed our hearts.

John’s spirit returned to the Lord peacefully on May 11 at Sunnybrook hospital.

Cherished husband to Lucie, loving father to Blair (Fernando), Heather (Jordon), playful Poppy to grandchildren Lincoln John and Audrey, dear to brothers J. Mark (Karen) Chris (Susan), loved by many nieces and nephews.

John was born in Peterborough June 7, 1947, and is predeceased by his parents, Ronald (Link), Jeanne and Lois and stepsister Kathryn.After graduating the top of his engineering class at Queen’s University, he stepped into a full scholarship at the University of Strathclyde, Scotland for his master’s degree.

On his return he embraced a job setting up the sound system at Sheridan College before starting his engineering career at Canada General Electric in Peterborough.

He loved to explore the wilderness and honed his canoeing skills. John had the beautiful talent of making lifelong friends anywhere he went, even when he became a stay-at-home dad.

In 1993 John responded to God’s call on his life. Step one was learning Greek followed by four years of night school before completing his Master of Divinity at Knox College, University of Toronto.

During his years of pastoring the congregation at Victoria Royce in Toronto and then at St. Andrew’s in Ajax, John’s creativity reimaged how we could present the Gospel in new and exciting ways. His focus was on creating community and sharing his faith, which had become the most important thing in his life.

John’s creativity drove his activity. He loved taking things apart and add his touch of design in their making. He made his own canoe, paddles, and guitar, decks, desks and whatever else our family needed.

In retirement he designed, programmed, and built a model train layout showcasing his skill and love of constructing train stations perfectly to scale and detail.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Andrew’s Church, 35 Church St. N. Ajax 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 20. Visitation is at McEachnie’s Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax. May 19, 5-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers we invite you to honour John with a donation to pancreatic cancer research, Odette Centre, Sunnybrook hospital.

We give thanks to the Sunnybrook team for their care and caring for John during this time.

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Rita Bell (nee Bockerman), at 92 years of age.

She died peacefully in her sleep on May 9, 2023.

Rita is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Terry, and was adored by her 8 children Chris(Kathy), Gina(John), Rick(Terrie), Greg(Grace), Brad(Loren), Rod(Shari), Holly(John) and Michelle (Darryl), 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Rita was the cherished daughter of Kristian and Marta Bockerman.

Rita loved her large family and all the adventures we shared camping, skiing and sailing.

Her warm nature and passion for entertaining made our home the gathering place for family and friends and many memorable parties.

Robert (Bob) Williams Parnaby Martin passed away peacefully in Whitby, Ontario on May 7, 2023 in his 90th year with his family by his side, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Bob was a devoted husband to Margaret Martin (Frost), a loving father to Michael (Abby), Nancy (Robert Farmer) and Andrew, and a cherished brother to Marion, Margaret (Verne Miller), Archie (Sharon), Douglas (Joyce), Phyllis (Ken Salmon), Nancy and Ronald.

He will be missed by his grandchildren William, Maddie, Cora, Lucy and Elliot.

Bob loved dogs, dessert and children – in that order. He was a long-serving educator, beginning his career in a one-room schoolhouse in Canton, Ontario and ending it as a Durham District School Board superintendent.

Bob’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his caregivers at The Village of Taunton Mills for the excellent care he received during his struggle with Alzheimer’s.

A memorial service will be held at All Saints’ Anglican Church at 300 Dundas Street West in Whitby on June 10 at 11 a.m. Donations may be made to the animal charity of your choice.
