Born on October 28, 1949 our beloved Velma Marie Simms passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2017 at The Scarborough General Hospital in her 68th year.Devoted and Loving Mother of Claude Simms who will miss her terribly.Velma is also survived by her Grandson Nathaniel Simms, Sister Eleanor Ashley, Brother Rev. Edsel D. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Carlisle Hall, in his 76th year, on January 30, 2017 at Bowmanville Hospital.Victor will be remembered by his children Lisa Moody (Don), Allan Hall, and Scott Hall (Kathryn), his brother Dan Hall (Ethel), grand children Justin Fyfe, Ashley Kingz, Robert and Hannah Hall, cousin Elizabeth (Stewart), and great grandchildren Emma and Abel Kingz.Born in Bowmanville Hospital on May 15, 1941, dad continued a longstanding tradition of the Hall family by residing in Orono.A graduate of Kemptville College, Victor started his career at Bennett Paving but soon was hired onto the Ministry of Transportation where he drove all of the vehicles with a safe driving record that exceeded 30 plus years.After his career at MTO was over, Victor continued his driving career by driving a school bus for Phoenix and First Student. He was a proud father who very much enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play their various sports and activities. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Fosterbrooke for their continued care and compassion over the years.A memorial gathering will take place at Newcastle Funeral Home, Newcastle, on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 6pm to 9pm with sharing of memories at 8pm.
It is with great sadness that the family of Victor Stevens announces his passing on January 31, 2017.Vic, Dad, Grandpa left this world peacefully, surrounded by loving family and friends.In his 73 years of life, he married the woman he loved, raised 3 children and spoiled 9 grandchildren. Vic was predeceased by his parents, Elma and Frank Stevens.He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Barb Stevens, his children and their spouses; Kelly, Russ & Heather, Laurie & Troy; his “adopted” son Marty; as well as his sister Sandy and her husband Lorne. Grandpa will be especially missed by his grandchildren, Katelin, Jessica, Kyle, Megan, Tyler, Rachel, Mitchell, Brandon and Nathan. He will be joining Goldie, Shemo, Brooker, Holly and Taffie in heaven.Blaze, Daddy’s Baby, will miss his cuddles and treats until they meet again.Vic was honourable and prided for being a strong, hard working man who was always willing to go out of his way for the people he loved. He played a father & grandfather role for so many who were not related by blood. He loved and cared for his family more than anything else. Even in his last days he was always making jokes, and that is how we will remember him.Visitation will be held at McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax, Ontario (Pickering Village) on Friday, February 3rd, from 2 - 4pm and 7 – 9pm, and Saturday, February 4th, from 10 – 11am, with the service to begin at 11am.
