It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Edward “Ed” Ellig in his 84th year on February 28, 2022 at Southlake Residential Care Village from a lengthy illness of Parkinson’s, cancer and neuropathy.
Ed was the beloved husband and soulmate of Catherine (nee Menar) for nearly 56 years.
He is predeceased by his 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He will be dearly missed by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and his friend and helper Moe.
Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

Affectionately known as “Bette” – passed away at Lakeridge Hospital in Ajax March 1, 2022.
She passed peacefully in her 89th year with Debbie and Andrea at her side.
Bette was the cherished Mommy to Mark (Donna), Debbie (Tim) and David (Rick).
She adored her grandchildren Melissa (Brent), Stephanie (Rob), Brian, Jordan (Meghan), Andrea (Matthew), and Evan (Katrina).
She was blessed to be a Great Grandma to Sophia, Nathan, Lila and Grace.
We are at peace knowing that we all go to say our goodbyes in person.
Her hand was held for many hours and her sweet face was kissed. She will be missed so much.
We were very happy that her brother Ron was able to say “not goodbye, but see you later” over the phone.
We would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Bitonti for your gentle and caring bedside manner. Very sincere thanks for the hardworking and special nurses and other excellent staff people on 4 East. You were amazing.
Thank you for keeping our family in your prayers as we grieve the loss of both of our parents within a period of four months.

Evelyn enjoyed careers in insurance, retail and office administration and retired from the Scarborough Board of Education. She loved to bring the treats for family gatherings.
Her cherry balls and shortbread cookies were beyond delicious.
She made the best shepherd's pie ever, her scones were legendary as was her gravy.
She lived her life with grace, kindness, laughter and love. She left this life with dignity, on her terms, surrounded by love.
Cremation has taken place, and a Graveside Service will be held to celebrate her life at Pine Hills Cemetery in the Spring.
