Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday August 7, 2023, at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 81st year.
Beloved husband of Carolina (nee: Brito) who he spent 57 wonderful years with.
Loving father of Dulce (Ken), and Daniel (Jennifer).
Cherished Avô of Jordan, Madison, Ethan, Julian, and Emelia.
Jose will also be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends, both here in Canada and Portugal.

JUNE 21, 1964 – AUGUST 6, 2023
Passed peacefully at Lakridge Health Oshawa on Sunday August 6, 2023 with his family by his side, at 59 years of age.
Beloved son of Allan and Joanne Watkins.
Loving husband of Jane for 31 years.
Cherished father of Chantal and her fiancé Joe Zimba, and Chris (Jaime).
Doting Grandpa of Mila, Addison Jaxen and Nixen.
He will be missed by his fur babies Ellie and Cairo. John will be greatly missed by his sisters Nancy (Craig), Donna (Darren) and his brother in law Wade Deacon.
John will be fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends especially his friends that he found through his photography, with the Ontario Horse racing community.
Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday August 11th, from 3 – 5 p.m. and 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Passed away a valiant battle with cancer at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on August 2, 2023 at age of 79.
Loving wife of Bruce Whitehead.
Mother of Lori, David, Michael and Philip.
Loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren. Loving sister to Elsie, Joan, and Sally.
Jane will also be missed by many extended family and friends.
The family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring doctors and nursing staff on the 4F Wing at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa for compassion and professionalism shown to Jane and her family.
As per her own wishes, no formal funeral services will take place. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Peacefully passed away on August 2, 2023 at Extendicare Oshawa, in her 90th year.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Donald.
Loving mother of Don (Phyllis) and Russell (Corinne). Dear sister of Jack (Ritch).
Joan loved spending time at her place in Virginia.
She had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping people and animals.
She was involved with the SPCA and SNAPS and was always willing to rescue and raise many animals.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 11 a.m.

(retired realtor Royal LePage) Peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at age 90.
Joe was born in Oshawa, April 20, 1933 to proud parents Stephan and Mary Boshkovich.
Predeceased by his parents, beloved wife Elizabeth "Liz" and son Eric. Survived by his son Steve, daughter in law Stacey and his grandchildren Stephan, Courtney (David), Brock, Maddison and Elizabeth.
Proud grandpa Joe of his great grandchildren Greyson and Parker. Dear brother of Jim Bosco (Ann) of Burlington. Uncle of Kevin, Dean and Leah.
Joe will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Joe was a well known and respected realtor in Oshawa, he was an avid skier and enjoyed watching his grandchildren sports and activities as they grew up. He will honestly be missed by all.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their care and concern during this trying time.

James Irwin Bertrand
February 24, 1930 - July 30, 2023
With sadness, the family of James Irwin (“Jim”) Bertrand announce his quiet passing on July 30, 2023.
Born February 24, 1930, Dad was the second of 5 sons born to the late Allan Irwin Bertrand and Vera Noreen (Hurst) Bertrand.
Dad is survived by his 4 children: Suzanne Hill (late Herb), Catherine Pike (Ken), Michael, and Lizabeth Raja (Peter Giannokopoulos), his 4 granddaughters Emily Milic (Nik), Victoria Pike, Madelyne Raja, and Danielle Raja (Shamus Drumm) and his 2 great grandsons Mateo and Leo Milic.
Dad is also survived by his brothers Allan “Hank” Bertrand (Lynn) and Kenneth Bertrand (late Barb) and many nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents and son-in-law Herb, Dad was predeceased by his younger brother and best friend Robert (“Bob”) and an older brother in infancy.
Dad also said farewell to two wives, both named Barbara: Barbara Agnes (Polson) (“Mom”) and Barbara Marie (Bertrand) (Kilroy).
Dad’s working career spanned decades with General Motors in Oshawa, Ontario and Ste. Therese, Quebec.
Dad loved travelling, get togethers with family and friends, story-telling, restoring antique cars, building barns, gardening and walking his dogs, two Westies both named Sassy.
He was an avid reader and the cartons of National Geographic back issues are proof of that.
At Dad’s request there will be no funeral or life celebration.
Cremation has taken place with private burial at a later date.
Dad loved gardening; in lieu of sending flowers in his memory, we hope you plant some in your own garden and think fondly of him.

Joan Isabel Ovenden
Passed away peacefully at the Lakeridge Health Bowmanville Hospital on July 21, 2023 with her Daughter Sheryl and husband John by her side.
Joan was born in Wellington Ontario.
She was the daughter of the late George & Amelia ( Greenfield) Clarke.
Joan will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 13 years John Ovenden, Daughter Sheryl Lirette (Wayne) of Sackville NB, Son Jeff Bembridge ( Val), of Amherst NS, Step children Randy Ovenden ( Fay), Tim Ovenden ( Charlotte), Ken Ovenden ( Denise) Pat Buma, John Ovenden (Sandy), all of Ontario.
19 Grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren.
Joan was predeceased by her son Mark Bembridge, first husband Merl Bembridge and step great granddaughter Charlotte Devita.
At Joan's request there will be no service.
We would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Bowmanville Hospital and Dr. Hierstram for the care and compassion during this difficult time.
