Eleonore Auguste Willibald

Eleonore Auguste Willibald

Listed in

1928 - 2021 Born January 21st, 1928, in Munich Germany, daughter of the late Heinrich Buchner and Mathilde Miller, spouse of the late Martin Willibald and godmother to Patrick Lattouf (spouse Ariana Savin) passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2021 at the age of 93.

Lora, as she was known to most, had no children of her own however was loved as a mother/grandmother figure by the Lattouf family; Genevieve, George and children Rolland (Nicole), Matthew (Michelle), Nicholas and Patrick (Ariana), and known affectionately as 'oma Lora' to the family's grandchildren.

Lora and her husband Martin, established their lives in Pickering, Ontario. Lora lived a very full and enriching life, her experiences made her a great conversationalist and an entertaining story teller.

Up until her passing, Lora lived independently in her marital home where only towards the end she relied more on Genevieve for care, never one to want to rely on the medical system, she maintained her health and independence for as long as possible.

Lora was a loving and generous soul with the wittiest sense of humour, an avid animal lover and known to take in any stray in need (even the raccoons who were in need of a snack). Her memorable presence will forever be remembered and missed by her "adopted family" and all who knew her. God bless our oma Lora, you are once again reunited with the love of your life, Martin.

We would like to thank the amazing nurses and doctors at Ajax Rouge Hospital and Lakeridge Health for taking such great care of her in her final days.

The family will receive guests at the McEachnie Funeral Home, Ajax Ontario, on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you wish to attend, registration is required. The Funeral Service will take place on Friday, October 15, 2021. There will be visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service to follow.

Given her passion for animal welfare, we ask that any donations be made in her honour to The Humane Society of Durham Region. https://www.hsdr.org/ .
