Tony is now reunited with his beloved wife Nora.

Loving father of Joseph (Andrea) and Joanna (Jhomar).

Devoted son of the late Giuseppe and Maria Pallone.

Dear brother of Ralph (Doris), Marisa (Frank) and Laura (Ron).

Tony will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME , 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday, April 4th from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Masks are required.

Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE PARISH, 570 Marion Avenue, Oshawa on Tuesday, April 5th at 10:30 a.m. Masks are required. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hearth Place or Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

We are sad to announce that on Monday, March 28th, Alfred “Al” Guenther (Whitby, Ontario) passed away at Toronto General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Al was born to parents Horst Guenther (predeceased) & Erika Guenther on August 23, 1957 in the city of Toronto.

He was the oldest of 7 children: Winfred (predeceased), Thomas, Herbert, Angelika, Marianne and Margarete.

He married Christine ( Nee Antle), the love of his life, in 1979, who survives him. He was a devoted father to April (Dave Carroll), Sandy (Dave Clarke) and Amanda (Derek Jamieson) and an adored Papa to David, Hannah, Jaxon, Madden, Karsen and Cameron.

Al and Christine’s love story began when they met while they both worked at “Woolco”.

Soon after they married, he began his career in the automotive industry where he successfully managed parts departments for various Chrysler dealerships in the GTA. Often winning awards, bonuses and trips for his achievements.

A Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 9th, 2022 at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, Whitby, ON, from 2:30 PM to 5:30PM. The family will be expressing their love, stories and appreciation about Al at 3:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or to the Humane society of Durham Region.

Alfred leaves behind the love of his life, his adoring wife Margaret, after sharing 66 years together as husband and wife.

Alfred is survived by his adoring family, his children Pam (Martin), Almo (Myra), Terry (Fawn), Gary (Kay), Vera (Bruce), Tony (Janice), Betty (Derrick), and predeceased by his son Jim (Brenda).

Cherished grandfather of Samantha, Josh, Stephen, Mallorie, Brittany, Scott, Ashley, Kathryn, Alexandra, Allison, Marshall, T.J., Tyler, and Paul Great-grandfather of Logan, Adrian, Locklynn, Gannon, and Faith.

Dear brother of Betty Dobbin and Vera Rowe.

Alfred will by lovingly remembered by all of his family and friends in Ontario and Newfoundland.

Alfred and Margaret moved to Ontario in 1983 to live with their daughter Pam.

In Newfoundland he worked as a Lumberman and had a reputation as the fastest lumberman around.

He was a proud family man who adored every family event and get together. Alfred was very involved with the Salvation Army.

Visitation will be held on Friday April 1st from 11am to 1pm followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1pm, ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME , 124 King Street East, Oshawa.

Interment to follow at GROVESIDE CEMETERY , Whitby.

Passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the age of 82, peacefully with his loving wife Ulla by his side. Born in Nässjö, Sweden, Akke and his family immigrated to Canada in 1972.

Akke, beloved husband for 62 years to Ulla (née Lindh), loving father to Johan (Lauren), Sonja, grandfather to Ashley (David), and Amanda (Michael).

Akke was also a very proud great grandpa to Lucia, August, Freja and River.

Akke had a great positive impact on many, both in his work life and also in the community as he served faithfully in his local church.

He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Annie “Ann” Wallace, in her 91st year, at Hillsdale Terraces, Oshawa, Ontario, on Thursday, March 10th, 2022.

Ann was predeceased by her much loved husband of 62 years Robert Wallace.

She will be greatly missed by her children Brian (Chris), Lorraine (Rick), Barbara (Bob) and Steven (Ruth).

Ann was the much cherished grandmother of ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She was the dear sister of Mary Dougherty.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Hillsdale Terraces for taking such good care of our mother Annie.

They became like a second family to us and the kindness shown by them will not be forgotten.

She was born in the Ukraine and emigrated twice, to Belgium and Canada in her long beautiful life.

Anderson (Andy) Paton

Andy died on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Hospital, Oshawa from complications with pneumonia. Anderson Paton was born on June 16th, 1941 in Carluke, Scotland.

He was the youngest of 5 boys and 4 sisters. His family were coal miners.

Andy moved to Canada in 1968 to marry his wife Margaret Paton.

Working at Alcan Canada Foil, he enjoyed a life raising his two children, Allison and Colin.

A lover of music, laughter and conversation, Andy was a diligent husband and a hard working father.

Always a thoughtful man, Andy was happiest when he was surrounded by his family (near and far) and his friends.

Everyone who ever knew him regarded him as a gentle person with a true Scottish sense of humour who loved horses, dogs and all animals. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his daughter Allison, son Colin, his daughter-in-law Dawn Coulter and his grandson Jack Anderson Paton.
