85, of Newcastle, passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.
He was born in East Zorra Township, Oxford County on June 8, 1937, eldest son of the late Irvin and Lucinda Stere (Albrecht).
Wayne retired from Hutton Transport in 1994 after working for 33 years as a driver, dispatcher and Operations Manager.
He enjoyed the annual Pike Lake fishing excursions with his brothers, bird watching, art, reading, card games, and of course cheering on his beloved Leafs.
He was a committed volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society and Community Care Durham for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne whom he married on June 11, 1960; his four children, Greg (Nancy), Lori (Lorne), Roger (Laura) and Darryl (Susan); his six grandchildren, Alison, Nicholas, Jacob, Jordan, Michael, and Matthew; younger brother Gary, sisters-in-law Ann Habel, Margaret Habel, Winne Habel, Connie Dammeier and brother-in-law Doug Dammeier.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law Wilfred Habel and mother-in-law Rita Habel (Wagner), brother Claire, sister Marjorie Kalbfleisch, brother Robert, and sister Brenda (in infancy); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rosie Stere (Claire), Jim Kalbfleisch (Marjorie), Betty Stere (Robert), Jean Stere (Gary), John Habel (Ann), Robert Habel and wife Jean, Gerald Habel (Margaret) and Howard Eichler

Winnie passed away peacefully at Glen Hill Terrace LTC home in her 99th year.
She is predeceased by her husband Thomas, her brother Charles and sisters Beatrice, Margaret, Sadie and Irene. Loving mother to Allanah (Stephen), Gregory (Louise) and Gary (Sharon); her grandchildren Kristina (Tim), Geoffrey, Zachary (Diana), Samantha (Bradley) and Alexa (Richard); and her great-granddaughters Elisabeth and Savannah. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews in Canada, the USA and the United Kingdom.
Winnie and Tommy immigrated to Canada from Northern Ireland settling in Scarborough where they raised their family. Winnie loved singing and dancing and after moving to a condo in Bowmanville, she became an active member of the Older Adult association, taking part in clogging, line dancing, square dancing and tap dancing as well as many other activities.
She also transferred her church membership to St. Paul’s United Church where she enjoyed worshipping with her new church family.
Winnie left her condo and moved to Bowmanville Creek Retirement home just as it was opening and was there until last year, when a fall made it impossible for her to remain.
Many thanks to the staff at the Creek for always checking in on her and making sure that she got to as many of the activities as she was able to participate in. Heartfelt thanks also go out to the staff at Glen Hill Terrace, especially 2N, for their kind and compassionate care during Winnie’s time there.
Visitation will take place at St. Paul’s United Church, 178 Church Street Bowmanville, from 10 am on Saturday February 4, until the time of the service at 11:30 am. A reception will follow in the church hall. A Private interment will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery.

He was the loved Grampa/Pappy to Dan, Trevor, Katelynn, Briannah, Gabrielle, and Michael. Very loved Great Pappy to Stacie, Nick, Madison, Liam, Avery, and Isabella.
Jay will also be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. We want to thank Dr. Michael Francis and the Ross Memorial Hospital staff, Dr. Shannon Trainor and Lakeridge Health G-7 staff for their compassionate care for our family.
A memorial service will be held on January 27, 2023, at 1 pm at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, 70 William Street South, Lindsay, Ontario. A family Interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener, Ontario, on May 12 at 2 pm.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wilhelmina (Willy) on January 8th, peacefully at home with loving family by her side.
Beloved wife of Paul for 60 years. Cherished mother of Rhonda and Randy. Devoted Oma to Matthew and Mina. Dear sister to Ria (John) and Ben (Ruth), and sister-in-law to Joanna (Doug) and Patricia (predeceased Casey).
A former fitness instructor for the YWCA, Willy loved baking, reading, crafting and spending time with her family. She led a life well lived and treasured her husband, Paul, who was completely devoted to her right to the end and never left her side.
Willy’s most cherished memories were the many trips she enjoyed with Paul throughout their many years of marriage, and the vacations spent with family.
Willy inspired her family with her strength, loving heart, and supportive nature. The love and happiness she brought to their lives is immeasurable.
Her family and friends will greatly miss her joyful and caring nature, but will always be grateful for the light and love she brought to all of us. She will live in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Wayne went to be with the Lord with family by his side at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry on January 13, 2023 in his 83rd year.
Wayne was born in Oshawa on March 17, 1940 to Meredith (Pat) and Evelyn McMillan (nee Glide).
Wayne married his “best buddy” Irene (Tineke) in 1958 and they were married for 59 years when she passed in 2017.
Cherished father of Patti McMillan (Victor Bourgeois), Susie McMillan (Al Brouwer), and Michele McMillan (Jesse Stewart). Proud Grandpa of Randi (Kris), Kelsie (Jeff), Dakota, Parker, Grace, and Dinnon and Great-Grandpa of Luca, Eleanor, Piper, and Winnie.
Loving brother-in-law to Gwen McMillan, Edna Buma, Jennie Mast, and Marinus Visser. Predeceased by his siblings, Meredith (Ruth), George (Betty), Marie Howe (Jim), and Jack as well as inlaws Pete Buma, Jan and Flossie Bolhuis, Cora Visser, Leo Lootsma, and Andrew Mast. Dear friend to Graciela Taylor. Friend, IT guy, and handyman to many residents at Durham Christian Homes, Hope Fellowship Church, and the larger Oshawa/Whitby community.
Always one to take on new challenges, Wayne worked at a variety of jobs within General Motors (GM), including being one of the first people to work on computers. Recognizing that they were going to be the way of the future, Wayne was the first person in the neighbourhood to have a home computer.
Working as a programmer and systems analyst, he moved over to EDS when they took over the Information Technology portion of GM’s operations.
Wayne was a person who made friends wherever he went–at work, at church, in the community, or while traveling. He was known as “the IT guy” within the Durham Christian Homes community, where he was regularly called upon to fix his friends’ computers, phones, laptops, tablets, and televisions. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and would work tirelessly until he found a solution.
He will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends.
Visitation at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY , 21 Garrard Rd, Whitby on Saturday January 21 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. followed by a private interment for the family. Friends and family welcome to a celebration of life to be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday January 21 at Durham Christian Homes, 200 Glen Hill Drive South, Whitby.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William “Bill” McLeister in his 92nd year on Friday January 13th in Ajax Pickering Hospital with family by his side.
Bill was born in Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1954 together with his wife Isabel whom he first met at a Floral Hall dance in Belfast.
Bill was the loving husband of Isabel for 68+ years; father to Sandra (Scott), Ronald (Kate), Alan (Vicki), Linda (Bruce) and Karen (Stan); grandfather to Bryan (Kristen), Connor (Sarah), Jessica, Kathleen (Quinton), Andrew, Stirling, Kyle and Shaina; and great-grandfather to Lyla.
He will be dearly missed by his extended family and friends.
He first apprenticed as a mechanic with Inglis Bakery and then worked at the Aircraft Factory in Belfast before going to Toronto where he worked for a short time with International Harvester followed by the Toronto Star for 37 years.
Bill loved attending his grandsons Bryan and Connor’s soccer, hockey and lacrosse games. He was a great fan of Manchester United Football Club and an avid table tennis player in his youth. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and DIY and could fix most anything around the house.
Bill was very kind-hearted, family oriented, and hardworking with a great sense of humour. The McLeister Family would like to thank the 2-North Nursing Team and Dr. Lui at Ajax Pickering Hospital for their wonderful care and kindness during Bill’s stay there.
Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held in the future.
According to Bill’s wishes, his ashes will be returned to Northern Ireland - always his home in his heart.
