It is with a sorrowful heart we announce the passing of Alicja Matylda Ceranowicz.
On May the 12th Alicja (Elsie) passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in her 93rd year.
Predeceased (1989) by her husband Tadeuz Ceranowicz.
Loving Mother of Edward (Cynthia), Donald (Suzanne), Barbara, and John (Rene’e) Alicja loved many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She never missed a Birthday or a special event! Alicja will be remembered as a loving, strong, kind, patient woman who always had a good word for everyone. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts. RIP xo
A visitation for Alicja will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice, ON L1E 2R7, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 AM.

Peacefully in Oshawa, with her 5 children by her side, Agnes passed away at 11pm on Thursday May 11, 2023.
Agnes was 90 years young.
Agnes was born in Holland, one of 11 children and came to Canada in 1954, following an older sister Dien.
She had her eye on the prize of a young man named Bill.
In 1955, she married that man. They raised 5 children and left a legacy of 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Loving wife of William (deceased 2014).

Proud Great Grandma (Oma) of Annalise, Charlotte, Jasmine, Tyson, William, Josie, Ella, Kylie, Payton, Vanessa (Andrew), Zachary, Vesa, Nico, Sebastian, Taylor, Lily, James.
She is survived by 2 sisters in Holland and numerous relatives, too many to count. A special thank you to her close friends in the community where she resided for the last 20 years. She will be missed by all that loved her.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 17 from 3 – 7 pm, at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Rd. Whitby. Funeral is Thursday May 18 at St. John’s the Evangelist, 903 Giffard St. Whitby at 10:30 am, reception to follow. Interment at 2pm same day.

We are saddened to announce the loss of our father following a brief illness.
He passed away on May 8, 2023, at Lakeridge Health, Whitby, at the age of 86.
Predeceased by our mom, Sandra (née Whimsett). Lovingly remembered by Michael (Linda), Joy (Neil) and Marc (Deb).

Retired for many years, Dad loved sharing his many stories of a great career in sales and travelling throughout Canada. As kids, we grew to know how special we were as a chosen family where love knew no bounds.
Sharing fond memories of Brian Drive, backyard BBQs and the radio on from dawn to dusk.
At Dad's request, we will privately celebrate his life as Capesky's do. Have a cold one, Dad, smoke your best cigar and give Mom a hug and our love.

Age 57 passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Avinash was born in India.

A mass of christian burial will occur Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Parish, 91 Ribblesdale Drive, Whitby, Ontario.

June 1931 - May 2023
On May 7, 2023, at 91 years old, Anny Vanderpluym (nee Jacobs) died peacefully with family by her side.
Anny was predeceased by her husband John.
She was a devoted and loving mother and immensely proud of her family of six children, John (and Pamela), Gerald (and Paula), Joyce (and Steve), Irene (and Dave), Angela (and John) and Mary-Anne (and Brian).
She was beloved Oma to her 13 grandchildren: John, Krystle, Lucas, Derek, Laura, Michael, Colin, Philip, Jillian, Michelle, Evan, Matthew and Evangeline. Oma Anny loved her 14 great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Christopher, Peyton, Piper, Elizabeth, Garrick, Vivienne, Willow, Barrett, Emerson, Juliet, Carson, Eleanor and Chantal.
Anny was born in the Netherlands on June 13, 1931, she and John immigrated to Canada on the Maasdam IV, arriving in Halifax on December 19, 1952.
They first lived in Toronto and then moved to Whitby with their growing family, eventually settling in Ajax, where Anny lived in their family home until she passed.
She was an involved and dedicated member of St. Bernadette’s Parish.
Annys family will receive friends at the Accettone Funeral Home, 384 Finley Ave. Ajax, Ontario, from 6 pm to 8 pm on Sunday, May 14. Her funeral will be held at St. Bernadettes (Harwood Ave/Bayly in Ajax) on Monday, May 15 at 10:30 am. Interment to follow.

November 26, 1954 - May 3, 2023
Adriaan (Andy) Jan Louws was born November 26, 1954, in ‘s-Heer Arendskerke, the Netherlands to Pieter and Francina Louws.
The fourth born of six children, he was brother to Peter (Maria) Louws [deceased], Janna (Jake) McCullough, Neil (Rita) Louws, Francis [deceased] Louws and Joanne (Tony) Rasmussens.
Additionally, he will be missed by his nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. Andy was larger than life, in both stature and character. His silhouette on a country road, effortlessly spinning the pedals of his well tuned bicycles, an enduring image.
To many members of our community, he was simply ‘the guy on the bike.’ His greetings to friends, acquaintances and complete strangers, effusive, warm, unforgettable. He could meet a stranger along the Bowmanville Valley trail or the Hampton general store and at once be engrossed in conversation.
There was an earnestness with which he carried himself.
He was uncompromising, forthright, and ready with a word of seasoned advice or observation about the world.
Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville on Friday May 12, 2023, from 6 – 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at Newcastle Baptist Fellowship Church on Saturday May 13th at 1pm.
Peacefully, on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Miramichi Hospital at age 83.
Austin Robert Hicks passed away. He was the loving husband of Joan (nee Beal).
Cherished father of Michael Hicks, and Wanda and her husband Brian Harbert.
Loved grandfather of Daniel, Alyssa Hay (Cody) and Peter Hicks and Jerrica Harbert.
And great grandfather to Russell, Charlie and Abby.
He was predeceased by his first wife Carolyn Ann (nee Spencer), his sisters Yvonne Doreen(Bob), and Edith Elaine(Edward) his brother Blaine. Austin was predeceased by his parents Dolly Amelia Maude (nee Sears) and Henry Robert.
Our father was an avid woodworker who over the years built furniture, houses and even worked on a school in Oshawa.
He loved nothing better than to go camping near Tweed where they bought property, lovingly known as Rocky Acre. Later in his life he took up wood carving and made some beautiful carved loons, which are on display in our homes even today.
When his first wife passed away he learned how to work a computer and put together an over 800 page family genealogy.
When he remarried he moved to his hometown of Sackville NB.

Al is survived by his sister’s Violet, Deirdre and Eileen.
Loved brother-in-law of Erna and Helga. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews in Canada and Ireland.
The family of Al Quinn will receive friends in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street (Hwy 7A) in Port Perry on Wednesday, May 3rd from 10 – 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Church at 11 a.m. with Father Keith Wallace officiating. Interment St. Malachy Church Graveyard in Newry, Northern Ireland.

June 28, 1952 – April 21, 2023
Suddenly and unexpectedly, Andrea entered into Glory, having achieved threescore years and ten and the promise of many crowns.
She is survived by sons Sean Clifford Marshall and Tyler Judd Marshall, and sister Cynthia Jane Rundle.
Andrea now joins her parents John Clifford Rundle and Louise Langmaid Rundle (née Pearce) in the presence of our Lord.
Always congenial, Andrea will be forever loved and remembered for her kind heart, patient understanding and playful wit.
Special thanks to the staff and residents of Extendicare Oshawa. Your love, care, friendship, and support meant a great deal to Andrea and family.
Visitation will be held at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa) on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. A reception at Armstrong Funeral Home will follow the service.
