January 9, 1932 - August 30, 2023

Passed away in Port Hope on Wednesday August 30th, 2023 at the age of 91.

Loving wife of Jim Brown formerly of Brooklin.

Loved and loving mother of David Brown and his wife Paula of Ajax and Linda Brown and her husband David of Port Hope.

Grandmother of Kylee (Troy), Kimberly (Eric), Jason (Christine), Jamie (Tiffany), Jennifer (Jimmy).

Great Grandmother of Brooke, Kaitlyn, Brayden, Ethan, Kiara, Kaycee, Jaxson, Kingston, Konnar, Laurel and Karter.

Predeceased by her sister Vida and brothers Ernest and Ralph.

Visitation at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Sunday September 10th from 12:00 Noon until time of service in the Barnes Chapel at 1:00 pm.

Passed away at home on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the age of 82.

Loving and devoted husband of Norma (nee: Murdock).

Cherished grandfather of Tyler Moreau (Kirstyn Abramczuk) and Amanda Moreau (Tom Murry).

June 15, 1953 - August 17, 2023

Passed away at his home in Whitby on Thursday August 17th, 2023 in his 70th year.

Son of the late Thomas & Kathleen Nickson.

Husband of Melanie, much loved father of Meghan and Thomas Nickson of Whitby.

Grandfather of Levi.

Richard enjoyed his hobbies of nature photography, painting, cooking and baking.

He was employed at Metro stores as the bakery manager before his retirement in 2022.

His daughter would describe him as the “King of D-I-Y”.

Private family visitation was held at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Sunday afternoon. Richard will be cremated as per his wish.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on August 20th, 2023, at the age of 94.

Beloved Husband of the late Maria for 65 years.

1936 - 2023

Robert (Bobby) Neil Baun was born on September 9, 1936 and passed away peacefully last Monday, August 14, 2023 at the age of 86 after enduring failing health over the past couple of years.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Sallie and their five children Jeff (Wanda), Greg (Glenda), Brian (Claudia), Michelle (Keith Carroll), and Patty, as well by their twelve grandchildren Andrew, Christian, Kyle, Jessica, Lauren, Erin, Nicholas, Peter, Jill, Monique, Kolme and Cooper and their eight great grandchildren, Makenna, Scottie, Maverick, Rhodes, Peyton, Tally, Abby, and Brooks.

Survived by his sister Joyce Manos. Bobby (Boomer) Baun played over seventeen years in the NHL, most of it with the Toronto Maple Leafs where he won four Stanley cups. His most recognized accomplishment in hockey came in 1964 when he scored a winning overtime goal on a broken leg.

Bobby was known for his tough brand of hockey and if you were coming down his side of the ice you better have your head on a swivel. Bobby loved his fans, and they adored him for his tough style of play.

Even in his eighties he was sending out thousands of pieces of autographed paraphernalia each year, which is a testament to his commitment to his fans.

Although Bob lacked formal education, later in life he took an interest in being involved and sponsoring youth at the Ontario Tech University, where a scholarship remains under Bob and Sallie Baun’s name.

Private funeral arrangements. Respectfully, the Baun family requests privacy during this difficult time. There will be a private service held for family members only.
