Rita Marie Lacroix
At the age of 92, Rita peacefully passed away at her residence with family by her side
on Saturday, August 12th, 2023.
Loving mother of her son Guy (Susie).
Predeceased by her loving husband Richard Roland Lacroix, her cherished daughter Marilyne McDonald, and daughter-in-law Jackie Hedges.
Adored Grand-Mama of René (Jess), Jovette Carey (Dave) and Mason McDonald (Zyniesha). Great grandmother to Leia, Sophie, Abbey, Maverick, Malcolm, and Maddox.
Rita is predeceased by her siblings; Roland, Marie-Anna, Alice, Leo, Yvonne, and Cécile.
She was a strong pillar of the French community in Oshawa and a lifelong parishioner of Paroisse Assomption de Notre-Dame. As such, she was professionally and personally devoted to her Francophone family.
She had an incredible sense of humor, wisdom and sharp wit, as well as an undeniable “Joie de Vivre” that brought a smile to everyone around her. She loved singing, and her beautiful voice could be heard loud and clear on many occasions.
You will be missed, but we will forever remember your parting words proclaiming “Ma vie est complète”. You lived every day to the fullest, well done!
Friends are welcome to join with the family for visitation at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME , 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Friday August 25th from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm. Parish Prayers will be held during the evening visitation.
A Funeral Mass at Paroisse Assomption de Notre Dame will be held on Saturday, August 26th at 11am. Followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

May 9, 1952 - August 14, 2023
Passed away peacefully on Monday August 14th, 2023, with his family by his side, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
Roman in his 71st year leaves behind his wife Ilona.
Dear father of Marcin (Anna).
Grandfather of Zuzannna.
Brother of Krzysztof (Agnieszka) and Marek (Alicja).
Predeceased by his brother Piotr (Gienia) and his parents Irena and Kazimierz.
Lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Robert “Bob” Atkinson
1940 - 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Atkinson on August 11, 2023 at the age of 82.
He was the beloved husband of Wendy for 61 years.
Caring father to Dave (Kim) and Stan (Nancy).
Proud Poppa to Lily, Leo, Maeve, John, Colin and Darcy.
Treasured brother of Doug. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends.
Bob was a very generous and giving person. He volunteered as the Peewee Convenor of the Leaside Baseball Association for more than 35 years. He also served Northlea United church as choir member and treasurer. He served on numerous charity causes including Community Care East York, Junior Achievement and the Street Kids Foundation.
Bob enjoyed cruising with Wendy on Holland America ships and they were fortunate to see much of the world together.
Bob broke the mould as an accountant with a lively personality and sense of humour!
The end came quickly and peacefully with Wendy and Dave by his side.
The family would like to thank the staff of Amica Pickering for their care and concern over the last year, and especially the last few weeks.
A celebration of life will be held at Northlea United Church 125 Brentcliffe Rd. Toronto on August 29 at 11 am.
Ralph Kennedy
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday August 10th, 2023 at the age of 77.
Beloved husband of Jane (nee Foster) for almost 57 years.
Cherished father of Karen VanMeer (Rick) and Shari Kinney.
Proud grandfather of Justin Kinney, Laura VanMeer (Cory Langstaff), Nicole VanMeer and Sarah Kinney.
Dear brother to Sheila Kennedy (Stephen Hawes). Predeceased by siblings Velda, Ken and Cecil.
Ralph will be remembered for his passion for baseball, love of family and quick wit.

Passed away suddenly but peacefully on Thursday August 10th, 2023.
Rick in his 70th year is the son of the late William & Cleo McArthur.
Richard is survived by his brothers Randy, Regan (Chris), Raymond (Sheila), Dale (Vicky) and David (Irene) and their families.
Proud retiree of Chrysler Automotive Manufacturer after 30 years of service.
As per Rick’s wishes, cremation and interment of his ashes has taken place at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY .

Passed away suddenly at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay.

AUGUST 8, 1942 – JULY 31, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mike on Monday, July 31st, 2023.
At age 80, while surrounded by family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Mike was ushered into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Beth.
Mike is remembered by his devoted present wife, Patricia (Cooper) Aselstyne; his son, Sandy Aselstyne, his wife Tammy Mutch and their two sons Alex and Ryan; and his daughter Beth-Anne Lamb, her husband Rod and children Abby, Luke and Lauren.
As a devoted father, husband, and grandfather, Mike will be profoundly missed. He will be remembered always by many extended family and friends.
Mike’s professional contributions to General Motors, Pro-Safe Inc., and Raglan Industries, along with his personal commitments to several church communities, will not quickly be forgotten.
A drop-in gathering will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, August 5th from 1-3 p.m.
A time for tributes and remembering is planned for 2:00 pm.
A private family Interment will occur on a later date at the Coldwater Cemetery.
