1962 - 2023
Passed away on March 29th. Her life was focused on service to others and to aid those in need especially in the community when she could.
In the past she had worked as a Social Worker in Vancouver and Toronto and during Covid she delivered food and other essentials to the doors of, at risk, people in the Durham Region.
She loved to make sure everyone had enough to eat not only when preparing meals for family and friends but also during the holiday season when she would help prepare and deliver special meals to people that could not manage it on their own.
Sher is survived by her husband, Brian, their two children, Brad and Shannon, as well as her loving bother, Steven and very dear friend, Marlene. They will always remember her love of nature and how she took a particular joy in feeding birds in the back yard and seeing which ones would return each spring. She always strived to try to find answers in spirituality and now she is at peace having finally found all those answers.
A Celebration of Life will be held this May. Arrangements with Destefano Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Sheila lived a life that was centred around the love she had for her husband, Michael, her children Jenni and Andrea, Jenni’s partner Kristen, step daughters Megan and Jessica, and grandchildren Cullen, Leea, Ben, Charlie Mae and Audrey Grace.
She valued family above all else and was cherished by her sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Brian, her niece Caryn and partner, Mike, and her nephew, Skip and partner, Sharon.
Sheila’s chosen family includes her personal angel, Marilyn, as well as many other friends and colleagues who enjoyed her accepting and easygoing nature.
Even in her final days she was a giver, wanting to be sure that the people she loved were taken care of first. Sheila shared Kodak moments with Mike, Andrea and girlfriends on trips around the world, including Scotland, her favourite place on earth. Throughout her thirty-year career, working for the Town of Whitby and the City of Oshawa, she met dear friends for life.
She never forgot her roots, speaking warmly of her childhood on Ward’s Island in Toronto and sharing memories of her parents Ernest and Doris (nee Taylor).
Sheila will live in our hearts forever and memories of her laugh and smile will uplift us.
A celebration of Sheila’s life will be held at DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa on Sunday April 2nd at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Back Door Mission in Oshawa.
