It is with great sadness that the McFarlane family announces the passing of our beloved Lucille McFarlane after a prolonged illness on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Lakeridge Gardens Long Term Care Home.

Loving Mother of Carol, Grandmother of Kianna, Kalen and Kaila.

She is survived by her sisters Grace, Enid, Sheila and Olga, brother Kenneth, Sister In-Law Icelyn. Lucille is preceded by her parents Father Nemiah McFarlane and Mother Henrietta Christie, adopted mother Ethlyn McFarlane.

She will be greatly missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

We would like to thank the caring staff of the Lakeridge Gardens Long Term Care Home, the Dialysis Department at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital, Paramedics and Mount Lawn Funeral Home.

Louis passed away suddenly in the morning of December 4th at the Village of Taunton Mills.

He is together again with his loving wife, Judy, after almost 60 years of marriage.

Louis will be greatly missed by his children, Christine, Stephen, Wendy and Douglas(Kelly) and his grandchildren, Jessica, Colin, Connor, Caleb, Jake, Noah, Luke, Emily and Louis.

Louis was the youngest brother to the late Diana Welkoff and Violet Mangoff. Louis graduated from the University of Toronto with degrees in both Civil Engineering and Law. He practised law for most of his career. Louis enjoyed many hobbies including model trains and planes (which he often crashed!!).

In his retirement, he enjoyed perfecting his golf game. Louis and Judy spent many years travelling as well as enjoying their trailer in Buckhorn, Ontario. Louis was loved by all of his family and friends.

He has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for both Lou and Judy.

Any donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.

Peacefully on November 30th 2022, Lynda-Lee passed following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, surrounded by her family.

Forever in the hearts of her husband Paul, and their daughters Bryanna (James Batchelor) and Kristen (Michael Sproul).

Loving Nana to Alice and Jack, devoted aunt to Michael and Courtney Brown.

She recently retired from Sick Kids after 38 years, and enjoyed quilting with her friends in the local quilting guild.

Len provided love and guidance to his son, family, and friends.

Beloved partner to Steven and father to Julian.

Len was a primary educator as well as a gifted artist and crafter.

He enjoyed travelling especially to Europe and the Middle East.

Len loved his home and his Schnauzers and Kerry Blue Terriers he’s had over the years, he talked to his pets often and catered to them.

Len was a special friend to many and will be dearly missed.

Surrounded by love, Bert was taken unto The Lord on December 1st, 2022 at the age of 90 years.

Beloved husband of Annie de Bruin (nee Biersteker) who would have celebrated their 65th Anniversary on December 7th.

Loving father of Nancy vanNiejenhuis (Will), Yvonne Jansma (Harold), Debbie Talsma (Ray) and Calvin de Bruin (Sonya).

Bert was predeceased by his son Andrew de Bruin, son in law Clarence vanNiejenhuis, granddaughter Danielle and great grandson Jakob. Much loved Opa of 16 grandchildren and Great-Opa of 21.

He will be missed dearly by brother Henk de Bruin and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N. on Monday December 5th from 6 – 8 pm. Private Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday December 6th at 11 am at MARANATHA CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 2805 Highway 2 Bowmanville. The service will be available to view virtually, a link will be provided.

Linda Ruby East (Allen) of Courtice passed away on Monday November 21, 2022.

Linda died peacefully at home with her daughter at her side.

A service to celebrate Linda will be held on Friday December 2, 2022, beginning at 11am. The service will be held at McEachnie Funeral Home at 28 Old Kingston Rd, Ajax. All are invited to attend. A reception will be held onsite immediately following the service.

It is with great sadness that the family of Laurysa Joanelle Annette Hollywood Sherrard announce her passing, suddenly on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Toronto General Hospital at the age of 42.

Beloved mother and best friend of Elowen Moon.

Loving wife of Daniel Taylor and step-mother of Andrew. Cherished daughter of Firelei (Lei) and Ron LePage and half sister of Scott Taylor.

Laurysa was born in Toronto on April 30, 1980. She was an avid traveller and previously lived in Vancouver, Gabriola Island and Peterborough before moving to Blackstock.

Most of her time was occupied by lovingly teaching and caring for her five-year-old daughter.

She has a variety of interests including art, gardening, reading and outdoor activities. Laurysa will be deeply missed by Patricia and Dagmar Storek, Reni Walker, Heather Taylor, Jason and Trish Taylor, Bradley and Jessi Taylor, Joe and Sasha Vermulst, as well as her many close friends and neighbours.

Visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry,on Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 2p.m. to 4p.m. and 7p.m. to 9p.m. A Service will be held in the chapel on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11a.m. with visitation for one hour prior.

Sadly, Lillian Jean Beamish passed away on Thursday, October 27th, 2022 in her 91st year at the Wynfield Long Term Care Home in Oshawa.

She was recently predeceased by her long-time best friend, Katherine (Kay) Helleur, on September 12th, 2022.

Lillian was the last surviving offspring of Edith Brown and Kenneth Beamish.

She was predeceased by her siblings Margaret Campbell (Walter, d.), William (Joyce), Helen Winter (Bill), Ross Shaffer (Churyl), and Donald (Barbara, d.)

Lillian embraced life with vigour and enthusiasm from her earliest days, whether it was driving the kids from Mary Street to the ski hill, working hard for Pilot Club International and eventually becoming Lieutenant Governor of District 17.

Throwing herself full-tilt into her work life at General Motors in the sales department, playing badminton competitively in her early years and later enjoying the game of golf, exploring the world with Kay and their friends, spending winters at their Florida Condo, working hard on the Lynde Creek Village Residents’ Council, or taking part to the fullest in services, Bible Study, choirs and committees at St. Mark’s United Church in Whitby.

Lillian had a great love of all animals, especially dogs, and was always ready with a joke to share until her health failed her.

She will be missed by her surviving brother-in-law, Bill, and her sisters-in-law Joyce and Churyl and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

At last count, she exclaimed that she had been an aunt 74 times!

A visitation for Lillian will be held on Friday, November 25th, 2022 at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 21 Garrard Rd., Whitby, Ontario (905-443-3376) at 11:00am followed by a service at 12:00noon.

Interment will take place at GROVESIDE CEMETERY, 5155 Baldwin St. S., Whitby, Ontario.

The family has asked that everyone please wear masks at the funeral home and be conscious of social distancing protocols to protect all present from the dangers of COVID.

A special thank you to the caring staff of Lynde Creek Retirement Home, Whitby and to the staff of the Wynfield Long Term Care Home who treated Lillian so lovingly during her last days there.
