Passed away peacefully at the Lakeridge Health – Oshawa on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023 at the age of 84 years.
Predeceased by his dearly beloved wife Eileen (nee Azevedo). Loving father of Susan (Don).
Survived by his siblings, Monica Crum-Ewing (late Michael), Terry Ellis (Peter), Thelma Wong (Leslie) and Carlos (Cheryl).
Predeceased by his parents Carlos and Agnes Nascimento.
Missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bernie will be remembered as a truly wonderful, peaceful, giving and caring man.
Visitation will be held at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL , 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484) on Monday, January 23rd, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, January 24th, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 25th from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery.

Brian Michael Bassett
Unexpectedly, at his home with his wife by his side on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at age 76.
Brian Bassett, beloved husband of Jane (nee Browning) for 53 years.
Loving father of Sandy Bassett and Michael Bassett and his wife Meaghan.
Loving grandfather of Raven, Ellie and Ivy. Dear brother of Barry Bassett and Robert Bassett and his wife Jean. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends.
Brian was a very active member of the Cannington community always striving to make it a better place.
He volunteered with a number of organizations within the community. He was a man who wore many hats so to speak in his working career as an electrician, farmer, race track director of Mosport Speedway and entrepreneur.
He had a good business sense and always enjoyed the next adventure. The family wishes to thank all the Emergency Services for their quick, kind and compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Private arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Cannington Firefighter’s Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill on January 14, 2023, who has joined his loving Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ after 100 years of life.
Predeceased by his parents and his loving wife Helen Redpath (Dunlop) Father to Carolyn Betts (Redpath) Alan Betts (deceased), Marion Henry (Redpath) Gary Henry Grandfather to Mathew Clark, (Karen), Cheryl Wilson, (Mathew), Mark Clark (Erin) and Keith Henry Great Grandfather to Tristan Clark, Henry Wilson, Sienna, Hayden, Isabella Clark, Kailyn, Kina, Coraline Henry.
Our beloved father spent his final years at Centennial Place in Millbrook with loving nurses and PSWs who we thank for their amazing care.
Funeral visitation will be Friday January 20, 2023 9am-11 at McEachnie funeral home in Pickering village followed by a service
led by his grandson Pastor Mark Clark.

Suddenly passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 73.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Carol (2020).
Loving father of Jeff, Michael (Amber), Andrea (Will), and Sherri (Chris).
Devoted grandpa of Jackson, Cieran, Declan, Hunter, Lucas, Anika, Kaylee, and Oliver.
Cherished brother of Heather (the late Larry), Karen (Frank), Cheryl, Vaughan (Karen), Janice (Michael), Charlene (Luis), and Terry and brother-in-law of John Cross.
Dear nephew of Grant and Donna Simmons and uncle of Bruce (Joanne) and Brian (Tammy).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel.

We are broken hearted to announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Betty on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at age 87.
Predeceased by her husband Douglas Heayn.
Left behind are her daughter Vickie (William deceased), and son Tim (Carol), her grandchildren, Jamie (Kelly), Amber (Steve), Chris, Steve (Liz), Mandy (Doug), Derek, Dana, and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Malakye and Avara, Larissa, Megan, Brandon, Mickela, and Mackinnon, Christopher, and Alesha, Nathan and Leah, and great-great granddaughter Emberlyn.
Betty will be missed by her former daughter-in-law Nancy, her granddaughter of the heart Megan, and her dear friend Cathy.
