Passed away peacefully on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa surrounded by the love of her family.

Donna is survived by her beloved husband David.

Cherished mother of Aaron Smith and Craig Smith (Sean McDade), proud grandmother of Gabriela Smith, and loving sister of Debb Kubicki.

She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews including John-Charles Pinheiro, Todd Kubicki, and Tara Drennan.

She is predeceased by her parents Walter and Dorothy Kubicki and her brother Tom Kubicki (survived by Bonnie)

Early on, Donna would assume a role of support and love to her mother in raising brother Tom and sister Debb. After her father Walter passed away in 1958, life as she knew it was forever changed.

The family moved from Hamilton to Oshawa as Donna left behind her beloved Delta High School and friends. She began working at Bell Canada in her teen years to help support the family. When she began raising her family she left Bell only to return 15 years later to a draft table that was replaced by AutoCAD. She adapted and succeeded until retiring.

Donna met Dave when she was 14 and there was to be no other with each being the love of their lives. Donna married Dave when she was 20 and he 24. They were married for 59 years.

After five years of marriage, they welcomed their son Aaron and Craig four years later. Together they raised two fine sons, the source of their joy and their meaning in life. To complete this circle granddaughter Gabriela arrived on October 4, 2005, on Donna’s birthday nonetheless. Donna could not be more thrilled with Gabriela, now 17, graduating high school last week.

It was wonderful for Donna to know Gabriela will be attending Queen’s University in the Fall.

Donna was all about family, being a wife, mother and homemaker was Donna’s world.

Donna, we will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11th from 1:00p.m. until time of service in the chapel at 2:00p.m. prior at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby.

If desired, memorial donations to Durham Outlook for the Needy would be appreciated by the family.
