Norma Jean (nee Davis) Adams
Peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Strathaven LTC in Bowmanville in her 68th year with her family by her side.Norma Adams of Seagrave, devoted wife of 49 years to Donald.Loving mother of Lois Heindl (Greg) of Newcastle, and Douglas (predeceased).Granny will be greatly missed by grandchildren Maggianne and Marni Heindl.Norma was the daughter of Harry and Mary Davis of Tobermory (deceased), sister to Rob (Brenda) Davis of Tobermory, and predeceased by Russ (Tracy) Davis of Tobermory.Norma was a long term employee of the Oshawa Clinic, and retired with her husband to become snowbirds and spent many great years in Florida.Friends and family will be received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, Port Perry, on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.Norm was predeceased by his beloved wife Faye (d. 1982).Dear Dad of Mark (Veronica), Shane (Eunice) and Jennifer (Michael).Cherished and loved Papa Norm of Matthew, Morgan, McKenzie, Eden, Arleth, Tessa and Faye. Brother of Joan & the late Bill; John & Evelyn (the late Carol); Mary & Hank; Betty; Ron & Joy; Evelyn (the late Gino & the late Bud); Glenn & Judy. Norm will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Norm lived life to the hilt. Norman Edgar Ward
January 13 1919 - January 14 2017At his residence in Oshawa, Norm put down his golf clubs, curling broom, tennis racket and garden tools for the last time (his tomatoes were awesome!).A lifelong resident of Oshawa, Dad served in WW2 with the RCAF and wore many hats during his career as an entrepreneur owning several businesses over his lifetime.Beginning in the early 1950's, Norm introduced cottaging to more than a few generations.A long time Beech Lake cottager, friends and family learned the joys of the woods and water, corn roasts and card games, boats and bonfires.He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years Virgie Trotter and his sister Glenda Taylor.Left to cherish his memory are daughter Janet (Charles O'Neil) of Haliburton, grand-daughter Eliza O'Neil (James Galea) of Toronto, grandson Scott O'Neil and great grandchildren Gabrielle and William of the Gold Coast Australia, sister Velma Ward, niece Deborah (Ian Hancock) of Dorchester as well as his dear friend and companion Barb Farrell.According to Norm's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial reception will be held on Monday January 23rd 2017 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME Ltd., 152 King St. East, Oshawa (905-433-5558).Donations in memory of Norm to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a favourite CHARITY would be appreciated.
