His nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He will also be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends including Jenny and Katrina.Wally was a very proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces (1RCR) Pro Patria and the NATO Veterans of Canada.Those who knew Wally understood his love and appreciation for the great outdoors, as well as golfing, fishing, hunting, & being out on his motorcycle.Wally was a self-taught wood carver and his amazing artistic talent has been passed on to his grandchildren. He recently celebrated his 84th birthday.Bill is predeceased by his beloved wife Catherine (2004).He was called “Dad” by his three children: daughter Sandra (spouse Bob Alexander); son John (spouse Sandra Zidaric); daughter Jennifer (spouse Bob Mills).Bill was also known as “Pa” to grandchildren: Jason & Jenn, Melissa, Michelle, Adam, Stephanie, Megan, David, Evan, Brandon & Kenny.He was known as “Great Pa” to great-grandchildren: Hayden, Kyla, Mya, Abigail, Chase & Victoria. Bill lived and worked all his years in the Coldwater / Orillia area. He loved to play or watch the game of baseball.Bill was a very private man who requested no funeral service. His ashes will be interred with Catherine at the St. James Cemetery in Orillia.A private celebration of his life will take place, when pandemic restrictions are lifted. He will be remembered by his sister Glynis (Vin) and predeceased by his siblings Harvey (Eve), Gwen (Leslie) and Marg (Paul). He met Sheila in Staffordshire, England when she was 16 and he was 19. After living in England, he returned to Canada when he was 20 and started working when he sent for Sheila and they were married in Toronto in 1955. He was a private and wonderful man he had many friends and relatives in Canada and England.A heartfelt thanks to all who helped over the past 6 months, Queen Elizabeth PSW’s, Paramed nurses and PSW’s and all the caring nurses at Lakeridge Health who made his last days more comfortable.We would also like to thank Deb and Adrianna of the Elder Abuse Durham Police Dept., and a Special Thank You to Michelle of the Alzheimer Society of Whitby. We have said the last of our long goodbyes and he is at peace now. Bill was a longtime resident of Whitby, growing up at 513 Dundas St E as a child.He was also a small business owner in Whitby where he owned the Brock St Theatre/Whitby Cinema and then purchased Burtinsky Florists, renaming it Burtinsky & Brant Florist. He had a longtime love of plants, flowers and his family.During this unimaginable time, please remember to think of the long term care workers, frontline workers and all those that risk their lives daily for us. There will be no service at this time due to the current situation.
