(Proud member of Local 397 Carpenters’ Union Port Hope) -On Thursday, August 3, 2017, which was his father’s birthday, a tragic highway 401 accident took the life of Todd Gardiner and his cousin Michael Glazier while on their way to their annual Calabogie Family Golf Tournament. Both were hoping to bring home the championship trophy for a second year in a row. Tragedy struck and this very bright light went out for the last time.Todd was a lover of sports that included ice hockey (OCHL), ball hockey, golf and bowling which he excelled at them all. He also coached young kids in ball hockey and was asked to coach ice hockey in September. When Todd was born he was given a hockey stick by his Uncle Dave and he never gave up the love of the game. Dallas Stars have lost their avid fan! Todd loved Monty Python and would often put on skits. His friends say Todd’s smile would light up any dark room. Todd is survived by many broken hearts; his parents Terry and Pauline, his loving girlfriend Nicole McGee, many aunts and uncles and lots of cousins who were more like brothers and sisters to Todd.To list the names of the many friends Todd had, who considered him their brother and all the broken hearts that were left as a result of this tragic accident, would more than fill this page. Todd had a bright and loving future until this terrible accident took his life. Todd was met at the gates by his grandparents Mary and Bill Glazier, Anthony and Velma Jean Gardiner, Uncle Ken and Aunt Bonnie and his beloved pets Buddy, Toby, Sassy, Chance and Smokey. Like his mother, Todd was a friend to all animals and he will be missed by Rupert and Chloe. The family have asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Humane Society of Durham Region.Relatives and friends may call at Westminster United Church, 1850 Rossland Rd. E. (at Garrard Rd.), Whitby, on Friday August 11th from 12 noon until the time of memorial service at 3:00 p.m., with reception to follow.Arrangements entrusted to McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558).
